To understand a child, is to understand ourselves

It took me many years in this industry to realise this was the missing piece of the puzzle. We can get so caught up in knowing more stuff, searching endlessly for more answers in books and research, whilst minimising the influential nature of our own 'stuff'. There's often so much shame around even having 'stuff', but the reality is we all have stuff and there will always be more stuff to work on...and thats okay.

We need to create more space for healing and growing through our own stuff. And normalising this for the families we work with. What does this look like? Less focus on changing others, and more focus on incorporating healing and growth practices...for us all.

When we shift to this focus, we stop putting unrealistic expectations on children to 'be healed' or for parents to be 'perfect'. By creating more space for our own humanity as adults, we create more space for children to do the same. 💕
