THERAPY
Appointments via Telehealth (Online) and Karratha.
FOR CHILDREN:
Through Play Therapy, children are able to express their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, play out their inner world, learn skills and increase overall functioning. Play therapy strategies are often defined as directive or non-directive. I use a mix of play therapy interventions that are customised to your child and family situation. As a accredited mental health professional and Registered Play Therapist, play therapy sessions will differ from the play your child might be exposed to in schools or other professionals.
Child Therapy is delivered through Telehealth (a virtual playroom!) and at my office in Karratha. Parents play an important role in child therapy and our holistic approach ensures that you as the parent are involved in the process so that you leave therapy feeling supported, empowered and educated to continue to support your child’s mental health.
Child therapy is an appropriate mental health treatment for a range of psychological, life transitions and behavioural challenges including
-
Anxiety
-
Depression

FOR PARENTS:
I provide a holistic and unique perspective as a therapist who supports both parents and children.
Many parents would not hesitate to support their child to attend therapy, however hold a lot of guilt and stigma around their own mental health needs.
I support parents to address their own mental health, past experiences and create space in their lives for their mental wellbeing which not only impacts themselves, but their family.
Undertaking this journey can create enormous shifts in the way you see and respond to yourself and your child. For example, you will have an opportunity to explore your own experience of being parented (in childhood), and how that influences how you show up as a parent and as a man/woman in your own lives.
Some of the mental health issues I can support you with:
-
Anxiety
-

Perinatal/postpartum mood disorders
