The Cycle Breaker Kit for Working Mums
A Play Prescription® Kit
Stop sacrificing yourself to be a "good mother"—and start using research-backed therapeutic play skills that help your child feel seen, heard, and valued
You're exhausted from trying to be everything to everyone...all the time.
You leave for work feeling guilty.
You come home feeling behind.
You play with your child while mentally writing tomorrow's to-do list.
You fall into bed wondering if you're damaging them because you're not there enough, not doing enough, not present enough,
just not... enough.
And the worst part?
You thought you would have this 'work/life balance thing sorted out. That there would be this clear answer. A formula. A way to do both without te constant feeling that you're failing at everything.
Here's what nobody tells you:
The guilt you feel isn't about your child or that you are doing something wrong.
It's about beliefs you didn't even choose.
Beliefs like:
- Good mothers sacrifice themselves
- Your career makes you selfish
- Secure attachment requires constant presence
- Following your ambition means abandoning your child
- Working means you don't mother; mothering means you don't work
These beliefs unconsciously influence all the decisions you make. Every boundary you don't set. Every opportunity you actually want, but turn down. Every moment you ignore your own needs.
But here's the deeper problem:
Even when you recognise these beliefs don't actually serve you or your child, you're waiting for the guilt to go away before you take action.
You think you need to fix the beliefs first. Feel sure first.
But the guilt doesn't disappear—it just keeps you stuck.
What's missing isn't motivation. It's knowing how to take action TOWARD the life you actually want—for you and your child—even while the guilt is still there.
And that's keeping you stuck in a cycle of guilt, exhaustion, and disconnection.
The Cycle Breaker Kit for Working Mums
Built on the Play Prescription® Method - Created by Dr Sam Casey
The Play Prescription® Method is an integrative approach that combines evidence and research-based therapeutic practices specifically designed to support both mother and child wellbeing.
You'll learn therapeutic play skills rooted in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) and Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) that help children feel seen, heard, valued, and appreciated—while reducing parental stress and increasing connection in the time you have.
You don't need more time.
You need more connection within yourself and with your child in the time you have.
Why I Created This
I'm Dr. Sam Casey, a former child therapist- now a therapist specialising in cycle breaking and creator of the Play Prescription® Method.Â
For years, I worked with children in therapy while watching their mothers carry guilt and exhaustion. I went on a mission to immerse myself in maternal mental health studies and working as a therapist in the field.
I soon realised that the therapeutic play skills that transformed my work with children could also transform their mothers' lives—if they had access to them. In fact, it was the exact thing they needed to break cycles- within their child and themselves.
But traditional therapy isn't accessible. Nor is frameworks that support both the child and parents healing and growth, alongside each other.
So I created the Play Prescription® Method—making evidence-based therapeutic practices accessible to parents and professionals who need them most- outside the therapy room.Â
My expertise: Registered Play Therapist | Accredited Mental Health Social Worker | PhD in Psychology (Play Therapy) | Training in Maternal Mental Health, Perinatal Psychology & Trauma Informed Practice | Over 20 years experience working with children and families.Â
My mission for this Kit: Make therapeutic play skills accessible so working mothers can stop sacrificing themselves and start showing up intentionally, for themselves and their child.Â
